La Productora Cu-Au-Mo Project
Client name: Hot Chili Ltd
Duration: November 2012 – April 2013
Location: Vallenar, Region III Chile
Coffey delivered a JORC 2004 in-situ resource estimate for four extensions to the existing Productora resource ahead of schedule.
Hot Chili completed a very large drilling program (approximately 100,000m) at the Productora Copper Project.
Due to the drilling program being fast-tracked, they had a very tight window in which to update the in-situ resources, and release the information to the market to meet their corporate objective to secure further funding.
In close cooperation with their Geology team, we carried out the required resource modelling to validate the geological interpretation.
A site visit was undertaken to examine geology, drilling conditions and sampling procedures. The sample preparation and analytical laboratory in La Serena was also visited.
We helped support and improve existing quality procedures, and provided independent sampling verification. We delivered a series of detailed resource models for four extension areas.
The structurally complex hydrothermal breccia hosted mineralisation consists of multiple loads that are quite elongated along a strike length of more than 7km. We delivered a robust, traditional linear resource estimate for a global in-situ resource that did not materially under-estimate the significant high-grade portions of the deposit.
Hot Chili successfully released the Productora Resource Upgrade to the market and obtained additional funding to commence pre-feasibility studies at the project.
“Coffey delivered a robust resource estimate which successfully met an aggressive time frame. They worked very closely with our internal team of geologists to produce a first class result.”
