Coffey’s innovative spatial data infrastructure system integrated environmental data from a range of systems to produce a cohesive, web enabled geospatial solution that saves time and money.
The Environment Secretariat of São Paulo State (SMA / SP) produces large amounts of geographic information that’s widely distributed and not easily consolidated. This causes delays, resulting in high management costs.
Our client wanted to integrate their data to produce an official, unified dataset for internal use, and to be made available for public access.
We worked closely with SMA to design and implement a spatial data infrastructure solution that would meet their needs. Our understanding of environmental planning, monitoring and enforcement, combined with our geospatial information expertise, ensured a targeted solution that met the required standards, scalability and economic sustainability.
The resulting platform streamlined integration between the SMA / SP and other state departments.
We used a combination of free and commercial software to produce a comprehensive and cost-effective solution.
"The DataGEO Project was highly successful and innovative. The partnership between SMA-SP and Coffey in the development of technological improvements in geo-information provided a robust tool to support government actions in environmental management at various levels.”
