We are very proud to announce that Reece White and Andrew Labbett were respectively awarded “Best Young Professional Platform” and “Best Poster Presentation”.

Coffey also received the Certificate of Commendation in recognition of the sustainable site rehabilitation and beneficial soil reuse in Queenstown, Tasmania.

Reece discussed his experience and observations as a young professional in the contaminated land remediation industry. Using project and field examples, he highlighted the importance of assessing work being undertaken from an environmental, social and economic perspective to ensure that approaches and practices are sustainable and will help preserve our world for future generations.

Andrew's poster depicted how the Solar Thermal Aerobic Recirculation Treatment (START) system utilises alternative (solar) energy sources to pump, heat, aerate and re-inject contaminated groundwater. The process optimises the conditions that enhance bioremediation, without generating greenhouse gases or other wastes.
